Author, Academic, Instructor
I am a published author, therapist, and instructor/subject matter expert for undergraduate education. I specialize in popular culture, media studies, and film, critical thinking, American studies, gender and sexuality, social justice and the study of utopian and alternative communities. I worked for many years with UX and the architecture of Fortune 500 media rich websites.
About
My degrees cover many Liberal Arts subjects, with two Bachelor’s in Film Studies emphasizing history and theory, and Art Studio, emphasizing painting technique, an MA in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Somatic Psychology, an MA in Mythological Studies with Archetypal Psychology and a PhD in Mythological Studies emphasizing Archetypal Psychology, which includes topics in Religious Studies, Literature, Philosophy, Psychology, Media Studies, Folklore, and Methodology. My doctoral dissertation was a qualitative field study merging an ethnography with psychology to develop a psychographic deconstruction of American utopian thinking from the 1960s and 70s and the transmission of culture and values to the children raised within the American counterculture. This added the additional topics of Culture, Gender, Political Science, Social Justice Movements, Sociology, American Studies, Postmodern Theory, Utopian Studies, and Popular Culture analysis to my academic experience. I also spent many years developing large scale Fortune 500 websites such as Cisco Systems and Film and Television companies like Sony, NBC, and The American Film Institute.
